Carles Sala i Vila wins the winner of the 59th Josep M. Folch i Torres Prize for Novels for Boys and Girls with the play Capità Lluc (Captain Lluc). The prize, announced by La Galera and the Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana, is endowed with 4,000 euros.

The jury specially valued “the complicity between children and grandparents. It imagines a territory and artifacts that will make readers dream.”

During the award ceremony, the winner thanked “all the people who trust young readers and the literature that is written for them.”

and remarked  “if we want Catalan literature to have a long life, it is essential to take great care of younger readers”.
