Javier Andrada

Biography

Javier Andrada (Zamora, 1972) studied at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in León and later moved to Barcelona to specialize in illustration at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios Josep Serra i Abella, in the neighbouring city of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. In his first year, he already started working as an apprentice for the illustrator Jordi Vila Delclòs. This allowed him to learn the trade and break into the professional world. During his first working years, he illustrated textbooks and educational books while also painting murals and working for exhibitions, theatrical scenery, short films and advertising. He has been a regular contributor to Cavall Fort magazine since 2000. That same year he began illustrating children’s and young adult books, a genre where he has now illustrated about 90 books for the most important publishing houses in Spain. In 2021 he started publishing his own books as an author.
